I have been tutoring general chemistry for some time. It is an interesting subject to teach because students often make connections between their studies and the real world in sudden moments of realization. Discovery based learning works best to secure an understanding of subjects; at least that is what I have learned from tutoring. I love to help students use whatever tools they have available, which can be anything from textbooks to modeling kits. There are many learning aids and examples to use in science which can give kids insight into how every concept they learn applies to their daily lives. Watching students learn science and chemistry is as exciting as teaching.Recently, I graduated from Geneva College, from where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. I tutored my fellow students and peers while in college, particularly in science courses such as general/organic chemistry and genetics. I can also help in algebra, calculus, statistics, microbiology, and AP calculus. As it shows in my academic and personal life, I am definitely a science nerd. Hailing from West Chester, Pennsylvania, I like to read classic novels, watch strange sci-fi shows on television, and play ultimate Frisbee.
